That is stg i thought about sometime...there are many similarities, esp in the character, both whimsical and gifted, in their obsession about chess and the subsequent sort of refusal of the game...

Hello, everyone, the first thought I had was that Fischer looked up to Paul Morphy and copied him. Then yeah as you say both were odd characters outside of chess. I looked at a picture of Paul Morphy and Fischer and was like wow there could be more to this. There are young children who can play at the level of masters and it is hard to imagine how they could be able to play so well if their brain is not well developed yet. Now, what is interesting that there are reports where children show great talent in certain sports and claim to be a reincarnation of someone. Children being able to play golf and basketball like someone who has been playing for a decade. With all that being said both were talented at a young age in chess so it would be interesting to see someone who Paul Morphy was before. With all that being said this could all be nonsense and speculation.

Just finished reading a book called Aghora-Law of Karma by Robert Svoboda .
He has written the accounts of an Aghori Vimalananda .
Vimalananda says that Paul Morphy reincarnated as Bobby Fischer .
Don't ask me for proof or anything like that .
To those who don't believe in reincarnation (a eastern belief), you can take it with a pinch of salt .
Main reason I posted is to get inputs from readers if they see any similar style in Morphy's and Fischer's play .
Vimalanada says that both created havocs with the knights .
