Fox hunting with horses and hounds has been banned in the UK since 2005. What is still allowed is to chase after a bishop running on foot, who is dressed as a woman, using horses and hounds. This, unsurprisingly, is known as drag hunting.

Some may find it a drag; others have to be dragged - kicking and screaming - away from it. There are other interesting parallels to the game with which we are all familiar:

its origins are shrouded in mystery; there are many alleged originators - though it clearly owes much to similar, preceding games; and the rules are vague and in constant flux. Only the function of the game is undisputed: to vex.
