On the topic of actual advice, I guess what that guy earlier said, don't just play tons of blitz or bullet, instead rapid should be the fastest time control you play at. I myself don't think that you need to play hour long games to get better, but blitz certainly doesn't help much. And then play puzzles and analyze games.

blitz is not that bad, it can help you learn your openings better.

First you can look at other threads for advice, since there are hundreds of others on the same topic, second, if you want to improve, read books, do tactics, figure out weaknesses, get a coach, figure out what style you are and the coach will tell you how to improve from there! (i forgot also play games)
