I agree with the majority of this, but not entirely with eBay. Prices on eBay are similarly skewed. There are other issues to consider, including bid variations, disinformation, mislabeling, and so on. You have no idea how many NM and LP cards I see this site, but when you inspect them, they are far from that condition.

hi. I am opening a cyber judge booster box (2 packs a day) and I'm wondering how much a Japanese sawbuck is and if a 1999 Zapdos is worth anything. it doesn't have a first edition stamp, and it isn't in great condition, but its okay nonetheless.
