One thing that i wish i knew about pokemon go when i started was that you can get pikachu as your starting character if you walk away from the other ones. Did u know that? Tip #1 to have a higher chance at catching any pokemon and not have it escape is to wait until the circle is small by holding down the pokeball then toss the ball and try to hit the circle. Keep in mind this trick only works if you actually hit the circle. The smaller the circle is. The better chance of the pokemon not escaping.
Tip #2 Dont activate incenses right if your not gonna walk around. I did this once and it didnt work as well as i thought it would. Use items how they're supposed to be used and they will be more effective
Trick! If you name an eevee Sparky for Jolteon Rainer for Vaporeon or Pyro for Flareon when you evolve that eevee it will turn into its matching pare. I heard that it works and i tried it. It does. Like if you named your eevee as Pyro then it would evolve into a flareon once evolved.

This increases the pokemons actual chance to stay inside of the pokeball after landing a shot and increases the amount of exp earned by 10.
