Post false myths here!

MYTH Magnus Carlsen is still champion TRUE Nepo is champion https://www.chess.com/forum/view/off-topic/nepo-destroys-magnus-carlsen

If we go by the definition then I think it means #1 "a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events." or #2 "a widely held but false belief or idea.". I go with #1(JK #2).
I'm bored, debunk some false myths I guess.
Here are mine.
#1 MYTH. taking a hot bath or shower when you have a cold is a good idea. TRUTH. All it does is make your body colder. Because your body will think you are sweating and will decrease the heat. The best to do if you have a cold is to lay in bed and relax. If you do have to have a bath or shower then make it be tepid.
#2 MYTH. Drinking cold water doing workout/sports is healthy. TRUTH. If you are going to do any physical exercise then drinking tepid water is good. But cold or warm water will mess with your body temperature. And drink water BEFORE you do anything physical. Else it will mess with your temperature
#3 MYTH. All living things die. TRUTH. While yes, most living things do die eventually, there is one species of jellyfish that doesn't technically perish. Known as the Turritopsis dohrnii, this essentially immortal sea creature reverts back into a juvenile state after adulthood—so it can live out yet another life alongside its offspring.
#4 MYTH. Cold weather can give you a cold. TRUTH. Many people associate cold weather with the common cold. While the weather is not directly responsible for making people sick, the viruses that cause colds may spread more easily in lower temperatures, and exposure to cold and dry air may adversely impact the body’s immune system.
