I'm a historian enthusiast, I believe if anyone wants to have a opinion on any country's political issues/wars than they should read up on the history of both countries conflicting agendas/culture, and not just go with the crowd whom they believe to be ethnically popular than the other.
Sorry to hear this. You can turn off game chat, but if the aborting of games continue switch the flag to International.
Game aborts should be losses anyway, I don't understand why they aren't.
In almost any other online game leaving the game at any point is a forfit.
And it's true in chess tournaments, too, if you get paired up with someone you can't just quit and expect not to lose out on points
I'm sorry about that... it is absolutely useless to get angry at someone just because of their ethicity or nationality. That's just pure racism.
I do, however, believe that Israel's flag should not be allowed on the website, the exact same way as the Russian flag is not allowed. It is a question of continuity, either you re-introduce the other one or you ban them both, since both their crimes are equally heinous.

There is a difference as the Russian flag has also been banned by FIDE and the IOC.

Why do we even need flags on here? You can pick whichever you like and change it as often as you wish so It doesn't necessarily even represent where a player is really from. It has no bearing on the game.

In my opinion Israeli flag should be sanctioned on CC due to the current situation, namely the unapologetic mass-killings of civilians and the destruction of their homes with JDAMS and bulldozers. But that's just our few cents. Congratulations on making a successful bait thread.

How is this bait?
All they are saying is that they shouldn't get treated badly in games because of their flag.
I don't think chess.com thinks that Russians should be treated badly in games, regardless of whether their flag is sanctioned or not.
In my opinion no flag should be sanctioned in chess.com, but whether they are or aren't has no bearing on how people using that flag are to be treated.

As an Israeli playing on chess.com with Israel's flag I have encountered many racist messages these past few weeks.
Sometimes, it's just an opinion regarding the war, a blame for me, my people or my prime minister. Guys, I am not Bibi, don't write me messages while in a chess game about how I am murdering kids (... I'm not).
It's one thing to be so ignorant and wrong, so many times i see messages with little to no connection to the truth or our perspective as israeli and/ or jews... it's another to spit those lies at my face while playing a game for fun design to meet cultures and understanding.
Yes. it is distructing to hear someone writes that i am a murderer, when i sit with my phone playing chess to let my mind go of the fact that I have a freind held hostage by hamas.
Thank you. @chess.com staff, i hope to see higher regard for these kind of comments in your site. I play chess for fun, no need to get politics in and suffer from it only because where I am from. I also belive that many opponents abort the game when seeing israel's flag as i tried with my friend having another account with another flag and had much less aborts. start taking game aborts as loses.
