Wrong; one has a darker shade of blue. See the emojis for more

TheRealTorchLit

Exactly. Why is it that way, though? Didn’t Romania have an emblem in the center of their flag?

@TheRealTorchLit

Romania removed the emblem after awhile for it represented the U.S.S.R., which they were no longer under control of. This resulted in the Romanian flag becoming the same as Chad’s due to the fact that Chad’s flag had already been the same Blue-Yellow-Red vertical stripe pattern. Chad changed their flag while Romania still had the emblem, so technically, Romania copied Chad and not the other way around, as most people think for some reason.

At least this is what I’m pretty sure happened.

@bleppy

The reason most people think Chad copied Romania is because Romania has been using that flag in the exact form since 1866. Romania's flag only got an emblem on it in 1944 when the Red Army occupied it and imposed a communist dictatorship. After communism was removed in 1989 Romania went back to its old flag. That Chad took. When Romania first had that flag, Chad was not a country.
