Guys lets talk about rugby!

No. never. Rugby is the governments excuse for population control, where they send their country into a fight for nothing, at the cost of pain and injuries, many of which they hope cannot be cured.
TomGa
Really?! Ha ha
TomGa
So what about that game the other day? The big game.

What position did you play in your heyday TomTom?When we strarted the debate on your locked "life" thread you did indicate that you would give your professional take on the Match at Cardiff last Saturday Wales V Australia. Also what was your view on the match in Chicago  Ireland against the All Blacks? We await your words of wisdom with baited breath.I'm flattered that you gave me a mention in your thread title. At least it was not named Tom and Gerry.Laughing

PS in The Wales/Australia match whom did you think stood out in particular in their perfomance for the Oz team?

TomGa
Hmm. I was a winger. Fast as the wind.

As for outstanding players. Hmm. Jonny wilkinson?
Witkrag

So you were hanging round the edge waiting for a pass then bolting down the field when the ball came your way?Re  Wilkinson ("golden balls") what an iconic player. In the Rugby World Cup 2003 England against Australia-that famous KICK! Wow.Let's get back to Cardiff last Saturday.Re Ozzies which players most impressed you during the match?

TomGa
Yes! I ran so fast. To escape pain!
TomGa
I liked the really big guy. In the middle! Hmm. Scrums can be dangerous. Hmm. Take care. It's not a game for namby pambies.
TomGa
Who did you get impressed by?
TomGa
I only played rugby once. In the raf. Someone hit my face. And I was stood on. Man's game

Come  on Tom Tom you are too modest.I'll bet you were an ace! Re The Cardiff  game on Saturday I think the Oz players Foley and Kuridrani deserved special mention. What are your views? In my time I played Prop. One could have some real fun with the less robust opponentsLaughing

My claim to fame? I played second row alongside Chris Butcher at school.

Chris was a popular figure at school, friendly and affable but none of us would have predicted he'd go on to achieve such a high level as a flanker. He was big, fast and could knock over a truck but he couldn't hold a pass to save his life, talk about butter fingers.

Clearly though, he stuck at it and smoothed out such deficiencies - and fair play to the fella for that.

TomGa
I actually enjoyed that ghostie thank you.

I work with a big fella. He used to play rugby. I think he just used to get people. Hurt them. Ha ha!
TomGa
Well my view Witmag is it's about time rugby was discussed here. How about you give your top three all time favourite players.
Witkrag

That is not so easy to determine Tom Tom.Quite a few players might be in the running. But in my own view the following three would possibly qualify.

(1) Jonah Lomu. The iconic player for the All Blacks (New Zealand).Check his record out.Sadly he suffered ill-heath and died comparatively young.

(2) Joel Stransky. (South Africa) .Among his triumphs was his excellent performance in the Rugby World Cup in 1995-scoring all of South Africa's points including a dramatic winning drop goal against New Zealand.

(3)A toss-up between Will Carling and Jonny "Golden Balls" Wilkinson

(England).

What's your opinion?
