man, not sure what to make of this but if we don't sleep we died so what do we do ?
Spent almost a third of my Life Sleeping was it worth it?

by reading your post again I agree with you there so we should sleep for 5 hrs instead so that is only waste a fifth of your life.

Not sure about that Olympics comment; the Russians produced some of the best sleepers the world has ever seen. Still, they did positively leak vodka.

My father-in-law, who gets up every morning about 4 AM, once said, "People die in bed."
To which I answered, "Yeah, they also get hit by trucks, but I know which way I'd choose."

Not sure about that Olympics comment [followed by more fancy words.]
That's just 'cause you're jealous of my skillz.
Everybody knows Limey's have too much self-discipline to waste their time sleeping. Thus, "Mad dogs and Englishmen."

"How blessed are some people, whose lives have no fears, no dreads, to whom sleep is a blessing that comes nightly, and brings nothing but sweet dreams." by Bram Stoker from Dracula
"We rose up betimes, for sleep weighs lightly on the hopeful as well as on the anxious." by Johann D. Wyss from Swiss Family Robinson
I totally understand. That half-asleep state where I am conscious of how comfortable I am and not quite being clearly awake is yummy. If napping were a sport, I'd be in the best shape of my life.

I'm nearly thirty-seven years old. That's 12 years asleep. I think if sleeping became an olympic sport, I'd be in the running.
What keeps me going is my love for that lovely state of being half asleep yet being aware of the dappled sunshine upon the ceiling.
Is a life spent sleeping worth it? I know Melville wrote that it is worth living just to be able to sleep, but I don't get paid shit when I'm asleep! What do you folks think?
