See that, buckaroos? That's pain. Visual pain. Not just the picture, but the implication of it. What it means to be jebaited and pwned by the most eye-catching of titles. What it means to expect greatness and find trash.
What it means to be clickbaited.
See, I'm not an enemy of trickery. But using clickbait to flesh out views is a form of inhumane disrespect. When you clickbait something that sounds important, e.g. Area 51 being canceled (and no, it's not), you're putting at stake your credibility of being a decent person. Just recently, I found a thread about someone quitting Chess.com and inside was an entirely meaningless discussion off-topic from the general point. Because of clickbait, someone managed to fool a handful of people and turn a tragedy into a thread. That's a severe no-no that even the media uses to spark false discussion and revenue for themselves. Scumbaggery is a sin, and by fooling the people you fool yourself from humanity.
So don't be that guy. Be human. Make topics that make relevance to your well-being. And maybe then, I'll stop using furry pics as a threat weapon.
thank you for coming to my ted talk
