Tommy Morrison RIP

Terrible loss of great talent. The guy went toooo far in his private life, laying with any and everything he could get his hands onto, as he admitted a few years before his death. He layed with ONE man, just to say he tried it and then contracted that terrible disease. Amazingly bad luck. :(
Happy to be of service!! Glad that you enjoyed the video!
I have been a boxing fan since the 1980's when there seemed to be 1 fight a week between Thomas "Hit Man" Hearns and "Sugar Ray" Leonard.
In my opinion the closest that any boxer has ever come to being invincible was when Tyson knocked out Spinks in 1 round. Spinks was an Olympic gold medallist. Tyson's Mac truck onslaught in that fight was frightening against such a class boxer.

Tyson was in a class by himself when it came to raw power. I thought his first big mistake was firing his trainer Kevin Rooney. It was shocking when he lost to Buster Douglas. It seems everyone (myself included) considered Tyson invincible except of course for Buster Douglas. Tyson at his peak could totally overpower even the cream of the top heavyweights (Spinks being a good example). Now days its harder to be a boxing fan since all the big name fights are on pay per view, and there are more boxing organizations than nearly any fan can name.
Sugar Ray Leonard, Thomas the Hit Man Hearns, and Marvin Hagler were also fighters who i used to enjoy. Although they all fought in various weightclasses i think of them mainly as middleweights.
Of the heavyweights other boxers i liked besides Morrison was Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier, and George Foreman. Later on I would add Holyfield and Tyson as well.
I was very sorry to hear about the death (age 44) of Tommy (the duke) Morrison. I was lucky to had catched some of his early fights (I believe it was on ABC Wide World of Sports) when they promoted the fact he was related to John Wayne. He was the kind of boxer i really enjoyed, a puncher who would go straight ahead and always give it his all. His victory for the WBO share of the World Championship (over Foreman) was one of the best fights i have ever seen.
He also was noted for his role in one of the Rocky movie where him and Rocky settled there differences in a street fight (pretty sure it was Rocky 4 but i prefer Rocky 3).(Actually my gf reminded me he was in Rocky 5 not 4, Rocky 4 was where Rocky flew to Moscow to fight the Russian on Christmas day....also a better film than Rocky 5 to my mind)
Anyways i consider him one of the best and he provided me with alot of excitement over the years. Tommy Morrison R.I.P.
