You have to hire a company to host it for you. They will provide a server, bandwidth, and storage for your website. They will also take care of publishing your website address to a DNS provider. DNS is the internet "phonebook", if you don't have an entry it's difficult for people to find your website.

I've never used a web hosting provider and don't know anything about a top 10 list, etc., but I *have* heard too many people give a low opinion of GoDaddy. They are very aggressive at upselling attempts, and they try to hold onto your domain to an obnoxious degree. I'd avoid them at all costs. Just my two cents...
