Norway death: Police ask how Oslo man's body lay in flat for nine years - BBC News
A building caretaker entered an apartment in Oslo, Norway for essential maintenance work, and found that the tennant had been dead since 2011.
The tennant had set up his pension deposits and rent deductions to be automatically handled by his bank account, so nobody was alerted to his death until his body was accidentally found, nine years later.
When questioned, his neighbours described him as a quiet type, who "didn't socialize much".
...
... ummmm ... that's not surprising.
He's been dead for nearly a decade. I don't expect that he gets out much.

Am not sure this is weird enough for this thread, but it's pretty funny picturing someone being on the run in Peru or what have you hopping around on one leg. I guess if your name was blue flamingo it would have definitely been apropos.
