What powers do forum moderators have?

I was wondering what all forum moderators can do with their mod status. I was also wondering if they get perks like maybe having a second, regular account.

They can do the following: Lock topics, remove topics, ban users, mute users, see people's IP, and see your account notes. There could be more but that is all I know of their powers.

Actually, we cannot "ban users", that can only be done by Chess.com staff.

A few other things we can do are remove account avatars, backgrounds, and descriptions that violate the Terms of Service.

And yes, it is true, every moderator has a second, personal account, the same one we had before we answered the call, sort of like a superhero having a secret identity!

Gorlestown2 what on earth are you doing bumping these random threads about chess.com moderators?

ActivatePlan357

I think his first account got banned and now he is bitter

saygrrmanytimes

Hmmm that would be a reason I can accept as possible

saygrrmanytimes

Very possible

LazyDog24

he could have at least bumped it on the 2 year anniversary, smh

saygrrmanytimes

Yeah

Watch out I'm gonna say something Gorlestown2 might not like: Moderators are just here to keep everyone safe and happy, and to protect people from bad people and ideas.
