I don't believe Black is much better.  Only the rook-pawns are advanced, the rooks are developed to a6 and h6, even though only one rook could possibly have captured on its square.  The bishops are neglected.  He has no hope of castling.

But if I'm not criticizing, what will I say?  I have no other skills.

The orginal question people is if you were white what would you do?  So to that end, the objective is black's king.  I would use my white bishop and rooks to finish presure on the a and b column.  The king is already blocked in and under presure from the white knight.  You will need to play the black a and b column pawns in the right timing or you will get sacked by blacks bishop and rook.  I guess that is why Ray Brooks would resign, but really white is not in a bad position.  I guess the best discription is that this is transition from mid game to end game.  Depending on what logic you apply to the board will tell you how much mid game or how much end game.  Non the less the winner is not decisive.  I have played it out several different ways.  Both really can win.

Howdey,

an honest case of mistaken identity has occured. The position on the board has changed considerably since the original reply posts... the original position was pure bunkum. White is winning in the new position and should win easily.
