You don't seem to know very much about Windows. The upgrade from W10 to W11 is free - He wouldn't have to buy it. I'm just saying that I don't think the difference is significant, and I doubt it would make any difference with his problem. W10 will still get updates for several years, so there's no hurry for him to do the upgrade.
