Sound Effects

Hi Membership, I'm a bit behind the times (old) :) when it comes to computer technology. Lately I have noticed when I start a Live Game instead of a beep I am greeted by a sound that sounds a lot like someone passing gas. Also, when playing bullet games, when I get low on time, I get the equivalent of a computer generated "snicker" thrown at me. Is that computer generated or is my opponent creating that? If it is member generated, can anyone tell me how its done? Rgds Bob

my opponent confessed it was his sounds..

I wonder how it's done.

the little snake shizzzle thing when you are low on time, is just to let you know you're running out of time. I think you can put the sounds of, though I'm not sure about that.

Sometimes when I'm super focused, and my opponent puts me in check, I literally jolt lol, even when I see it comming sometimes, I go a few centimeters up in the air.

Could you please tell us how it's done?

to disable the sounds, you go to live chess, press the button play live. Then you are in the live chess screen. At the top right of your screen there's a button "settings", click that one, the first tab is "style" and there's a function there that says "sounds" at the moment this should be enabled, so simply disable it, et voila, the sounds won't bother you, I like em though :P

I have never done it with this site. But the weirdest thing that I did on another chess site was to change my sounds. I made check into a rifle noise. I made mate into a "yipeeeeeeee" noise. I made the higheat rating noise into a clicking of pouring  a drink noise. I made the resign noise into the dropping a bomb explosion noise.

10 months after I first posted this, I realize this is a computer generated sound that gives you 10 seconds notice n your clock
