Hey guys, I just became a premium member today for the video lessons. I understand the fundamentals of the game but am really looking to improve my understanding of chess strategy. I was curious if there are any particularly remarkable videos posted that I should be sure to watch. Cheers

the series on intermediate checkmates is great.  It definitely helped me make a significant jump in rating points by showing me some good mating patterns and how to set them up.

I am fairly new to the site as a premium member, and new to the game beyond a casual level myself.  I have been doing exactly what pdela has suggested.  I narrowed the search down to beginner videos and have going through them one at a time.  I have recently been watching some videos by FM Lilov ("The Center in Chess 1," "Planning in Chess," and "The Ideas Behind Planning") to start me out.  Good luck with your studies!  Smile

Thanks for responding, William :) I'm really looking forward to getting better at this, or at least to have a much better understanding of it, even if I can't master playing! Good luck to you too :)
