Annoyances in new “Play” mode

These are mostly personal preferences.

So recently I, along with a lot of other members have seen the pop up in live chess that recommends that we move to the new Play mode because Live chess is being retired.

So I changed to play mode and took a couple of unrated bullet games out to test it, and was pretty disappointed as it basically hadn’t changed at all since the last time I saw it, which was when it came out.

First off, I have the natural animation on. Play does not have animations. A minor inconvenience, but it threw me off greatly.

second, I enjoy spam clicking the pieces, making them move slightly and then have them reset on their squares. Well, Turns out that Play uses the chesskid live chess, meaning that not only does nothing happen except for a yellow highlight which you can barely see... it uses the  system where if you click a piece you select it, and if you click it again it deselected it. Sometimes I would be unsure if I clicked a piece so I would click it again to be sure, make my move, rest, then realize I deselected my piece. 

I can only assume that play does not save your settings in live chess preferences, so I hope that those problems can be ironed out.

I personally think that the play mode is better bc u can draw arrows, and that helps out a lot with my thinking process

its the complete opposite for me

You can draw arrows in live chess. I’ve always used it, hikaru can do it in live chess, I don’t know what you’re talking about
