back, forward arrow changed to undo

Just noticed the change on my app today. Really doesn’t make sense to take away the re-do button??? I’ll most likely cancel my subscription as well since having access to all the bots is a huge reason why i sub

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CHANGE THIS BACK!!! EVERYONE LOVED THE ORIGINAL INTERFACE! This new "'Undo' one move back only" interface is horrible! You cant explore different strategies now. I really can't understand why you would change this, Chess.com. It was absolutely perfect as it was before. I don't know if you did this as some sort of 'improvement' but i can guarantee that NOBODY will see it as an improvement and instead its simply MUCH WORSE! PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK to the back and forth arrows!!!!

Hello! We're sorry about this, and appreciate this feedback. We're taking it seriously and are working on an updated version of this page that involves two arrows like before, please stay tuned! In the meantime, you are able to navigate back and forward by tapping on the moves list on the top of the page. Please let us know if this allows you you to navigate the moves and see the history of the game.

Please change this back. I do not like the undo feature at all. The back and forwards was such a nice feature. Please fix it!

Agreed, I came here for the first time just to ask for the arrows back! It’s a pretty frustrating change.

This change is so stupid and frustrating; it’s inefficient, time wasting and distracting to use.

Very curious decision. Why change a system that allows people to explore the game of chess by trying different strategies and reviewing mistakes in ways not easily possible when playing with a real player, with a system that removes that advantage? I have some ideas why but I’m not sure. Please change it back.

@SonOfSpam996 you cannot go back and change your moves after checkmate. This used to be entirely possible before the latest update.

@Blonjohn... that was a frustrating part of the app before. Unless there was some other button I was missing, there was no way to go back to change moves and try something different after checkmate either. But you could (and still can in the move list) still go back to previous moves before then and try another path.

Hello! Following what @gabejacobs mentioned above, sharing videos with workarounds. Aware it doesn't necessarily address the change and frustration, but hope it serve you as a workaround for now.

1️⃣ For iOS members, check the video here: How to show/hide move list and navigate (iOS).

• You'd have to tap on the top right corner of the screen, so the move list is displayed, instead of the engine lines. After that, you can navigate between moves by yourself.

2️⃣ For Android member, the video is here: How to show/hide move list and navigate (Android).

• You'd have to tap on the bottom left of the screen (within the More menu) and activate Show Moves History, instead of engine lines. After that, you can navigate.

Yeh this is garbage. They still have an option to disable take backs in the bot settings but it does nothing. I'm wondering if this is a bug? Is anyone listening?

The change happened to be also. It's an awful decision and I can't see the rationale to remove the function just to save space for one button.
