Hi Maxwell,
thanks for the reply. Yeah, that was what I thought too. But why the even give these random/wrong numbers if they hardly make sense?
Blunder/Mistake count doesn't make sense?

Yeah true. Well for my rating stockfish depth 18-22 is fine for me. Those first number are just always very deceiving. Thanks for the replies.

Also I believe I've heard mention that chess.com's summary (before you click game report) is more lenient - i.e. it has a higher threshold there for what counts as a blunder/mistake/inaccuracy, so as not to deter people from chess by bombarding them with high numbers.
Although I don't know how much truth there is to that...

Hmm, but wouldn't be the amount of blunders shown in the first screenshot be lower if that were the case?

Did anyone ever figure out why this happens?
I always assumed it was due to very shallow analysis for the numbers that first pop up.

Super late to the party but my guess is they want people to analyze games more to get the premium version so they make your blunders/inaccuracy count higher

When you finish a Game, the first Mistakes, Blunders, Missed Wins, shown is called a Quick Analysis.
Not all members have UNLIMITED game review and analysis so the Quick Analysis is offered to help those users decide if they want to use their LIMITED number of analysis for a particular game.
DIAMOND accounts have UNLIMITED game review and analysis so the Quick Analysis is not really needed. I know on Android, there is a setting to Turn Off Quick Analysis, I'm not sure if there is a setting on the web to do the same thing.

Also, if you look at the OP's original POST, the Game Quick Analysis showed 1 Mistake plus 4 Blunders or 5 Total moves to be concerned about.
When the OP ran a deeper analysis, 3 of the Blunders were re-categorized to Mistake, but the Total moves of Concern remained at 5.
Sometimes there is fine line between a Mistake and a Blunder, so you really should look carefully at both of these categories and treat them like they are almost the same thing.

I did some searching on the web and found the setting to Turn Off Quick Analysis
If your account has UNLIMITED game review and analysis there really is no reason to run a post game Quick Analysis. You can turn this setting off and just run your game review and analysis.
If your account has LIMITED game review and analysis, you can use the post game Quick Analysis to help you decide if you want run a game review and analysis on a game.

Sorry I'm a year late to the party here, but I have the same question today. My working theory is that the first count is that of your opponent. I'll try to get a larger sample size, but I've found that usually the count matches the blunder and mistake count of my opponent's moves.
Why they'd design it this way I have no idea but seems to be consistent for me (though I've only been paying attention for a few games, given things could have changed in the last year). Here's a shot of a game i just played. Notice that the "five total blunders/mistakes" doesn't really match the 1 mistake I had (even if you factored in 6 inaccuracies).

A lot has changed in a year.
The old Game Report has been replaced by Game Review, and the Move Classifications is now using ClassificationV2.
You can read about the new ClassificationV2 here - https://support.chess.com/article/2965-how-are-moves-classified-what-is-a-blunder-or-brilliant-and-etc
Unfortunately, the Quick Analysis that appears when a game is finished is still using the old Move ClassificationV1. All these changes have made the Quick Analysis a lot less helpful to users when trying to decide to run a Game Review on a game.
Perhaps someday Chesscom will get around to updating the Quick Analysis to use the newer Move ClassificationV2.
Hi chess.com community,
I've had a question for a while.
When I finish a game, I see Mistake, Blunders, Missed Wins on the right hand side. In this case: Mistake 1 , Blunders 4 , Missed Wins 0 (Screenshot)
Then, when I analyse the game, the numbers are completely different. I always thought it might be the blunders of me and my opponent combined, but that doesn't work either.
Here the count after the analysis:
The numbers really don't seem to correspond. Does anyone have an explanation for this?
Kind regards,
greengoon
