I've seen top level chess players play armageddons in various tournaments, the Champion Chess Tour to name one. I want to test it out and i've tried OTB using the chess.com clock, but I want to try it out online. I have some ideas. I have noticed in my matches at the start, it showed the league you were in for a few seconds, and your name and league would be in the middle, and it kinda reminded me of Super Smash Bros. If chess.com gave maybe 10-15 seconds to enter in what amount of time they want, it could work. You could have it split like at the start of matches, but entirely gray because you don't know your color/side yet. There could be a box in the middle for you to enter in your time, with restrictions like 5-15 minutes. When the timer finishes, your opponent's card could be flipped, revealing their time. Only their card would be flipped, so you could see both time controls side by side. The same thing would happen on their side. Then the same thing would happen like in a usual armageddon. White has more time but has to win, and black has less time but only needs to draw. I think one cool feature would be if there were two options in the time control section, but the options weren't like 5+3 or 1 minute. It would be like increment or no increment, and possibly the delayed clock thing, whatever that is. That is my basic visualization.
I really want to play armageddons and i have some fun ideas for it. can chess.com let you play armageddons?
