Chess.com desktop client?

Hey guys, I'm the one who started this thread back, I don't know, a couple of years or so ago. And, as I wrote in a subsequent post already, I found that by simply signing up for a premium membership (Gold, in my case.. the least expensive), I am completely free of ads, except of course any ads for chess.com members who are tutoring, mentoring, etc. which I don't really consider those to be ads at all.  So I am puzzled by premium members who seem to be saying that they experience ads??? Now that my ads are gone, I have no problem with this newer interface. In fact, I love it.

Having said the above, as I'm finding more and more 'applications' that are actually all-in-one webpages, I've started using Chromium's app mode more and more.

I use Firefox mainly, but for things like chess.com and online-go.com I just run 'chromium --app=<url>' and get the browser without tabs or status bar. It's looks close enough to a 'real' application that I'm happy with it. :)

Thanks, with your tip i've created a shortcut for windows with Chrome to launch Chess.com Live in app mode filling its target with: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --app=https://www.chess.com/live , maybe you have to change path with yours for chrome.exe . It's just work very fine ^^

I thing it must works with firefox but i don't test it yet.. Also i've picked up official icon of chess.com for my shortcut at chess.com/favicon.ico , enjoy wink.png

I would hugely prefer a desktop client,it's faster and much more secure.I understand that it probably won't happen though.

Yeah do make one! This site is slow especially if you stream.

Although I have already gotten used to the browser, I started with FICS, but the nostalgia remains.
