Game abandoned too quickly/automatically

I was playing an unrated game with my friend and he spent 2 minutes on move 20...Bg5 and nothing happened. On Move 22 I played Bg3 and the game abandoned 6 seconds later. The game abandoned when he was at 2 min 15, and the game shows after I moved he was at 2 min 21, which means he only spent 6 seconds. Why are games abandoned? There was no notification or anything to show like "the game will auto-abort in...". I think auto-abandon and abort should not be so fast as players NEED TO CALCULATE, I think that maybe they dont have to force the person to move when he spent some time but maybe just a button to ensure the person is still online. Also there seems to be a glitch that the last move always shows the opponent at 0:00 after u refresh when the game is over.

The abandonment time starts at the time of the disconnect, regardless of whose turn it is. So your friend was likely disconnected during your turn and the time limit was reached after your move was made 

and the opponent was me smfh
