Game review ruined! 😡

Recently chess.com updated the game review. Why, I do not know, it was perfectly fine beforehand. The suggested puzzles and lessons have been removed. I found these suggestions particularly helpful as it would help you improve on your weaknesses. The fact that they been removed makes me feel as if I’m getting less for my money (as diamond subscribed member). The new layout of it is generally not as good as before and janky. I implore chess.com to add back the suggested puzzles/ lessons and review other stylistic changes to the game review. Anyone else feel the same?

Loki_god_of_deception

This is for 6 months now and it sucks. There a many comments here but nobody of the team cares. The lack of support sucks even more as the game reviews. My membership ends in 5 month and I will switch the software if it’s still the same.

Funny thing: For one day in December there was the old review stile, but the next day it was switched again

Brilliant moves exist if they're sacrifices or allow material to be captured, are good moves or best, and the player wasn't completely winning even if the move wasn't found. There are also some rating related considerations too.

A few months ago I made similar comments about game review now being total rubbish to a site admin, clearly without any effect. I asked that the original game review be restored 100%, no ifs no buts. Well that's worked out well hasn't it, NOT. I have also yet to see ANY positive comment about this new game review. What does that suggest to chess.com staff?

Hello! Thanks for bringing this up.

@cj_oloughin98: the suggested lessons and puzzles was removed for now due to relatively low use. That said, our team is aware that further recommendations are welcomed by the members, and we're working on a new way to suggest training, and learning tools after you review your games. Hang in there!

I agree that the practical chess-related functionality should take precedence, but personally I love seeing the thing about Alekhine's cat.
Not so big a fan of the "Hi, I'm Magnus Carlsen" quote being attributed to Magnus Carlsen. He stole "Hi, I'm Magnus Carlsen" from me tongue.png

Thanks for sharing it @brotherbobsummer - cool username, by the way. Suggested training tools after Game Review will be back, but improved. Our team is working to have suggestions that are truly personalized based on the game you played - true takeaways from your matches. Hang in there!

  • As a side note, feel free to check this out. 🙂

Hi @CShumacher. Sorry if my original post sounds angry in tone, just wanted to express my opinion on the new changes! Thank you so much for your reply and engagement in my post. I’m glad chess.com listens to user feedback. I hope chess.com will add some sort of feature that pinpoints weaknesses and offers help as the suggested lessons and puzzles used to. Many thanks! 🙂

No worries! If anything, frustration shows you care. 🙂
