How about a buy, sell, trade forum?

Title says it.  This came up in a recent thread.  It made me think about a mountain biking forum where there is a special sub-forum for selling of bikes and parts etc.  I think the site actually takes a small commission on the sales to give them reason to host it.

Anyway, it seems to make sense in chess where people are enthusiastic about chess equipment and there are probably lots of people looking for good used deals, and others who have to liquidate because they got a little carried away with their collections. happy.png

That's good to know, but just to be clear, posting a thread like "chessboard for sale" would not be considered spam?

If you posted chessboard for sell in every topic already in there that is spam. But creating a single topic letting people know you have a board to sell is fine.

Ok thanks.  I think more people would do that, but probably assume it isn't allowed.  I think the purpose of a dedicated sub-forum is to make it clear it is legal, to set it up so that it is easy to shop,  and to have specific rules laid out for it.  I bet if there was a specific buy sell trade forum right now there would be a hundred chess available that one could browse.  That would be nice!
