Low on time warning notification

For games that allow many days for a player to make a move, why on earth would the notification be just 1 hour before you run out of time?? If you get a notification while you're sleeping, it's useless.
The notification should be at least 8 hours in advance of running out of time, so you're likely to be awake and see it before it's too late.
Well, imho it should be possible to check the status of your daily matches twice per day, one time in the morning and another one in the evening. Try to have no less than 12 hours remaining in your open matches in-betweeen. Funny thing, I lost like 15 daily matches once on time because I couldn't get online right at 6pm. But that was my fault alright.
