More than half of my opponents in 10 min are obvious cheaters

Also, there is no way to send feedback properly on chess.com - this is the closest thing I could find.

I'm rated 22xx in Rapid. More than half the games I get matched with someone similarly rated that has opened their account just few days prior. Now, that is a massive red flag, since the odds of such a player being legit is very slim - the road to 22xx takes years, and it is improbable such a player would not have made an account earlier.

Now, this would not be a problem for me until very recently. I always look at my opponent's profile because, as earlier stated, more than half of players I get matched with have a fresh account like that. I don't want to play against stupid cheaters, so I would simply abandon the game and match against someone else. But now I have lost the ability to abort the game before making the first move - I need to resign! That's because I've aborted too many times. Better yet, when the player turns out to be a cheater and gets their account suspended, I don't get rating back for the move 0 resigned game since it wasn't a "proper" game. grin

I need to state this again: I don't abort games mindlessly, it is not poor sports, I just hate playing against someone I know is a cheater in 99% certainty. Now I'm being punished for this desire.

Yeah. As chess.com does not take cheating seriously to a point where over half of players I get matched against are cheaters, no wonder the remaining legit players are and should flee the site. That said, I will not play rapid time control here anymore, unless something is done about this.

Also, I'm waiting for a ban for the cheater I faced today, whom had 98.8 accuracy. Obviously very legit player. grin I would have aborted the game since the account was created 13 hours ago, but because of the fAiRpLaY pOlIcY I could not abort anymore, didn't want to resign either since then I wouldn't get my points back, so I played. Chess.com hasn't banned the account, now 12 hours in and counting.

It’s almost like a competition - who Chess.com take action against first? The alleged cheater who registered 13 hours ago and plays with near perfect accuracy, or you? You the abused customer who remains loyal to the site nonetheless. Because dude, you broke the rules too. You are not allowed to post about cheating in the forum! That’s the chess.com approach. It’s not what anyone living in the modern world would consider fair or logical. It’s more medieval, like chess. Tyrannical and nonsensical, brutal yet arbitrary, final judgements that require no evidence, allow no appeals, and aren’t the least bit fair. And soon it will be as if this conversation never happened. Think less about the latest approaches to site security and cheating detection that favor disclosure and community incentives, and imagine more of an inbred king who would rather delete or not respond to anyone voicing criticism. Chess.com takes cheating very seriously. Say it. Now say it again.

This is one place for feedback as is Help > Make a Suggestion and opening a ticket with support.

Allowing unlimited aborts isn't a good idea, as members abuse that as well.

That said, discussions of cheating, potential cheating, or cheat detection are not allowed in the general forums. If you would like to have the discussion, please join the following club: https://www.chess.com/club/cheating-forum
