Petition to give all 2000+ rated players Moderator on chess.com

Something that I notice happening in the chess.com forums recently is that there are many trolls running around on the chess.com forums who never get punished. I believe that this is due to a lack of moderation, as currently the moderator application process is very tedious and discouraging to many qualified individuals. Another thing I have noticed is that every single person who is 2000+ rated on the forums seems to be very helpful, serious, trustworthy and responsible, along with having a solid understanding of chess. I believe that all 2000+ rated players should automatically be granted the "Moderator" rank on chess.com, since we can be sure that they will warn and punish these trolls responsibility and we won't have to worry about them abusing their power.

EDIT: It has come to my attention that some people could cheats in order to gain 2000 rating. Which is why I suggest real name and ID be required to claim moderator, so they know you are a real person and they can permanently blacklist you if you are found to be cheating

I have given great reasons on every single one of these posts. But I think this one is the greatest so far, let me know what you think about it!

That's not going to happen.

Rating has nothing to do with how good a Moderator would be. The site also has moderator rules and guidelines, so there are things that you think should be moderated that won't be still and if an existing moderator over moderates, they won't remain one for long anyway.

Making to 2000 does not mean you are a good person, take chomper. And anyone can be bad, misusing this, and this promotes cheating so they can become mod and ban people, like if the cheater mike ox became mod I wouldn't be here.

I think if someone is a higher rating in chess, they will have spent more time and dedication to the game so they will respect the players on the forums a bit more. You can just tell by looking at the players on the forums, every 2000+ I have seen is very respectful to others. Even if they won't be good at moderating in particular, we can still be sure that they won't abuse their power or purposefully cause injustice. Also when I say trolls I mostly meant stuff about like obvious scams (like the phone scammers that keep appearing here) and obvious attacking and threats that immediately need to be shut down, but take days to as there are no people in power who can do anything about it. I could see a problem of moderators unfairly punishing people however but there could be some measures implemented to ensure that does not happen (such as a lot of moderators needing to approve it)

nope anyone can hide behind a screen

AGC-Gambit_YT

I just ruined your argument with 7 words.

Exactly, which is why this isn't provided for ANYONE. This isn't anyone, it's people who have dedicated hours to the game and people who are very likely to be respectful and responsible individuals. They could even ask for real name or ID if they really wanted to be safe, which is already something many strong chess players do on this site.

Yes which I why I suggested they require real name and ID to prevent cheaters

AGC-Gambit_YT

yes, but not doing this at all would prevent wasting time.
