you cannot make the dots disappear by tapping on the pieces, but you can do it by tapping on an empty square that doesn't have a dot on it
Piece selection and legal move highlight behavior in the app

Yes, I know, and it's very annoying.
So I wish that in the app, tapping on a selected piece would remove the dots. The website works like that, but in the app you have to tap on a empty square and also listen to a beep sound

maybe you can go to settings and disable the dot thing

Hey @HooDooToo! There are two requests here:
- The overall behavior, on iOS, of trying to make an illegal move (when in check) has just been changed to be the same as web. This includes the annoying beep.
- That said, the concept of deselecting a piece when tapping a second time has been taken into consideration on this feedback. Thanks for bringing it up!
Please make the piece selection and highlighting of legal moves in the app work the same way as on the website.
Currently in the app, when I tap on my piece, it is highlighted in yellow and the dots of legal moves appear around it. But when I tap on the same piece again, the dots don't disappear and the piece is still highlighted.
Is it possible to make it in the app, as it is done on the website, so when I tap on the highlighted piece again, the highlighting and the dots around it disappear? Currently, to remove the dots, you have to tap on a empty square, which is not very convenient.
Also, in one of the latest updates, tapping on the empty square is followed by an annoying beep sound, as if an impossible move has been made. Can you please remove it?
