Real Percentiles

I’m rated 727 and I’m in the 40th percentile.

When I started like 3 months ago I was at like 1200 and won a game or two then lost a bunch and now after a couple hundred games it’s more accurate.

Obviously I’m better now than when I was rated over 1000.

How accurate are our percentiles for players that have played a sufficient amount of games? Where do you guys think the real 50th percentile is for people that have played over a hundred games?

Pretty sure the percentile are accurate. But they only look at rating.

Obviously. I guess my question is, how accurate are the ratings? I for example was rated over 1000 after my first two games and now I’m 730ish, and I’m a lot better now than I was when I was rated over 1000.

It seems like there must be a lot of people who played a few games, got an inaccurate rating, and never opened the app again so the percentiles have to be off.

I feel like ratings and therefore percentiles would be a lot more accurate if every player had to play like 5 or 10 random strangers before ratings were assigned.
