Report player for Stalling but nothing happens.

I am in a game where the other player is constantly Stalling. He cannot win but just continues to waste time. Tells me via chat I should just resign. I have one move left now to Checkmate and now he has gone on leave for up to 15 days.

I have tried to report him numerous times via his profile tab but nothing happens. Site rules say they don’t tolerate this behaviour but they do nothing. What is the point of this option if they do Nothing.

he is not obligated to resign, decency is a virtue for a few only

If you are playing daily games I'm pretty sure the rules for stalling are more relaxed.  It's a lot easier for them to see stalling tactics on different time controls.

I think some daily players do that as part of their strategy. It's just something you have to get used to. (Or don't enter daily games with that many days.)

yeah that really sucks, and chess.com sucks for not doing anything about , and the gaslighting of other poster son this thread sucks too - the other player is not "using a strategy" he is patently about to lose and is a terrible sportman.

Stalling is increasingly commonplace.

My partner got a 24hr ban for letting the 58sec on the clock run out. They were thinking and didn't realize the time. The ban happened in less than 2 mins from that game ending. They have never let the clock run out. (We both thought it odd how the ban was instant - either a mod in the game or a friend of a mod, either way, someone was abusing their position)

I had a game where the player realized it was a no win, and instead of resigning, they let 5mins 22sec run out. I reported and nothing was done.

This website is frustrating and filled with corrupt mods. I can not wait until another website comes along offering the variations offered here. I don't play normal chess here, only the variations as they are no where else to be played. Anyone with computer knowledge or money looking to invest into something, keep the variants in mind. From the amount of unhappy players here, you will get a lot of people joining.

We have the possibility to report someone quitting and the majority of players based on more than 5000 games is that quitting is very popular, in addition it isn't against FIDE chess rules. So why in there a function in chess.com to report someone quitting? Kindly enlighten me. trimalo

Resignation is fine and not reportable unless they're doing it to drop rating. Leaving the game instead or stalling is not and is reportable.
