It's so you can try something else if you wanted to. For example, you might want to see why that was categorized that way but trying a different line, without going into analysis.

You can retry all moves in regular analysis. In review you're asked to improve on inaccuracies and blunders. It doesn't ask you to retry best moves, only great or perfect ones. So I still don't think this makes sense.

My "Retry" button is not available when I review my games. Any ideas of why this might be happening? I used to work but has oddly disappeared. I find the "retry" option to be very helpful in improving my chess.

If you're using the automatic review, it won't show you those categorizations, but if you arrow through the moves, you absolutely can retry all the moves after you leave book. It is by design.

Here is a screen shot of what I get when I review a game either by scrolling through my moves or if it is on auto. I have successfully used the review and retry feature for most of my games and a "retry" button was indeed available, sometimes the circle arrow or just a retry button but not now. I have opened a ticket as well but if you have a quick fix that would be fantastic.

Not seeing any issue out of beta. You might try clearing your browser cache.

I believe your issue with the "retry" option is actually due to the setting, "show best moves". It is located right of the "reviewing as white/black/both" and if the option is selected, the game review will not allow retries as it shows on screen, the best alternative.

That setting is fairly recent and wasn't available when this topic was posted. Also, @Qioso resolved the issue by clearing the browser cache.
