Latest game: Was over ten seconds ahead of my opponent (& winning in other respects as well) Then in the last ten seconds of the game we were both moving instantaneously and he somehow managed to win on time! Please don't post links to the time lag info, because the above information makes NO SENSE, even with that in mind.

I won't provide the links but that is the explanation. If your lag to the live server is too high, part of that will get counted against your clock.

The games on the archive show the time taken per move. So one could look at any specific game and see if what the server calculated, matches at all with what was seen in the client and potential lag or disconnects.

 

I can't say what your client was showing but it is possible for a connection to have fluctuations during a game; things on the client side can cause reconnects/packet resends for example, and there have been instances of bad ads causing slowness, though as those get reported they are removed from the third party provider.
