Turning off the game review

Chess.com has game review mechanic which basically performs a quick analysis of your game. However, I have found that the review is usually rather garbage due to it being to quickly. This is why I almost never ask for a review of my games, rather I myself analyze the game with the help of the engine and opening table bases chess.com provides.

However, the issue is that even if I didn't request the review, chess.com runs it regardless in the background of the analysis window. And really annoys me is that after the review, which is did not ask for, is done, my self-analysis is rudely interrupted and the position is thrown to the starting position.

This is why I would like if the review of the game could be made totally optional instead running it in the background. There are plenty of other annoyances that review mechanic causes which I don't bother mention now, but these too could solved by removing automatic game review mechanic.

Turn off Automatic Analysis in the Live Chess settings:

This is again one of these bizarre things in chess.com that there seems to be a setting which would fix this issue, however, that setting does not seem to work. I am saying this very confidently as I have clicked that exact setting for long time ago (and thus I have forgotten that setting), but it still runs the game review regardless when I am trying do a self-analysis. I would guess that that setting only prevents the game review right after, but not when you are trying to analyze the game.

Yeah, I think if you load the Analysis tab, Game Review automatically will run.

I asked and was told this:

  • If you press the Analysis button on the game end screen it won't run review in the background

Is that the way you're doing it? Also, if you haven't, you might bump up the depth to 26 for review to get better results when it does run.

I don't fully know what is this analysis button at the end game screen. It doesn't seem like this button shows on me. I always go to the analysis window by pressing the small analysis button at the side of the move list. Maybe this button is coded differently.
