Site admins don't care they'll give you the copypasta about how they're doing everything they can, they'll then ignore your suggestion and close the thread. I honestly hope something happens that gets them sued. Usually negligence is only solved in such a manner.
VPN bans/blurry images

I'm talking about the people who actually control bigger decisions on this website, not the unpaid mods. They do what they can but it's not enough.

I've seen the d*** pic profile picture before on OTF, which I assume is from Idiot Box, and I am thoroughly traumatized...
But yeah, banning VPNs could get rid of IP ban bypassing, but some people could get pretty mad at that.

They've already got a similar feature in DMs. Links will not be visible until you click on a button. Simply make a blur feature on images, and a click will unblur it. Simple, and effective in slowing down his efforts.

This seems to happen every 5 yrs or so. Someone with mental problems attacks the site and everyone goes scrambling for a fire alarm, or an online moderator.

Maybe don't completely shut it down, but the mods should give out an advisory in a pinned post about a "certain someone" posting NSFW images on the forums, and to proceed at your own risk.

#10 that's just giving them attention they want. Anyway it is weird some features needed for things like these have never been thought of when making a public place on the internet

" the mods should give out an advisory in a pinned post about a "certain someone" posting NSFW images on the forums, and to proceed at your own risk". They did.

I have a feeling that this thread will be locked...

I don't think a VPN ban would work in this case as dynamic IP addresses are more common than static ones.

1: ban vpns so people can’t get around ip bans. However, some people may dislike this, so there is another solution.
2: either make all images blurry until clicked on or make a setting that does basically the same thing. This way, when this troll posts nsfw content, you can tell from the very blurry image that it isn’t something you wanna look at, and never have to see it fully.
Thank you for trying to come up with a different suggested solution other than VPN bans. Privacy is important and it's not only jerks that use VPNs, so unfortunately many legitimate privacy-conscious people like myself end up being hurt by VPN bans.
VPN bans are never the answer. Yes, I'm looking at you Chessable.

@everyone please help me get a pfp I know how to get it, but everytime I get the picture I want it just doesn't load and I cant even see it when I click on my pfp. Is it glitched, and I did put something appropriate. Thanks.
You would be better off creating your own topic. That said, if the image you're trying to use is an unsupported format or too large, either in dimensions or file size, you won't be able to upload it.

I assume you understand that VPNs can only assign dynamic IP addresses from their own class C IP addresses, so you ban the whole class C, say 123.456.789.xxx. That's 256 addresses each time. Eventually, the VPN runs out of class C addresses, and the spammer will be stopped. The problem is that other VPN customers will also be banned. Those people will complain to chess.com. At that point, chess.com should calmly point the finger directly at the VPN provider, and give the customer the appropriate links to contact their own VPN provider and pressure them to clean up their act. When enough customers do this, the VPN provider will be forced to take action. That's how this process should be working...but most companies are too lazy now to do this.
Your right to be "private" and anonymous ends when the abusive content starts. The VPN company's right to hide people's identities also ends at that same point.

Nicely put.
But it may be more about short term numbers instead of laziness. Takes conviction to shut out paying users for a while.
