You have full screen icons? Are you a member of the Beta club or something, because I've never seen those?
In any case, on my device I can only get fullscreen mode by holding the inactive parts of the site and lifting it toward the top of the screen. However, I've noticed lately that this fails at times when in live chess. The solution is to reload the page.

So when I say I have Icons for Fullscrean. when I'm playing, below the setting wheel at the top right of the board display there's the icon I would call "The Fullscrean Icon" On videos etc it's that symbol/icon that makes fullscrean? I'll try your tip. it's a shame there's no designated fullscreen because it would make it just that bit bigger that I wouldn't need my specks! lol

That's Focus Mode, not full screen.

It doesn't get rid of everything.
Focus Mode - O.K. Thing is it doen't help me to Focus as just like you mention - it doesn't get rid of everything which is what I'm trying to do. It would be good to be able to get rid of everything and have the board just that bit bigger and have nothing else on the screen except the board. The board would be bigger on my screen and less distractions. I'm very suprised that this isn't easily possible...if at all?? I've tried to no avail to enlarge it using the above mentioned ways but to no avail? Any ideas Please...I'm thinking of moving to a different site where I can do this. It's a shame because it's my onlly issue with this site. You would think that seeing as how it's a chess site that they'ed have put the possibility of having the board fullscreen? It doesn't seem like too much to ask from my point of view, quite literally...Help Anyone??
On my device, I can flip the screen to portrait mode and that forces the site to change its layout so that the board takes up 95% of the screen and everything else you have to scroll to at the bottom.
However, this might not work on bigger screens.
Hello WSama! Thanks for replying. So can you explain what the flip screen to potrait is. The only flip option I can see is the one below te settings wheel that changes black and white around top to bottom and vice-versa so I can look at the game from both sides so to speak. I don't see "Portrait Mode" but I'm intregued??? Do tell Please...
You'll need a tablet or a phone for this trick. You simply enable the flip screen feature in your device and you can go ahead and turn your device around - voila!
Portrait mode is when you have the length pointing upwards, like your typical picture frame.
If you're using a traditional laptop or PC, you may need some fancy add-on to help trick the browser into rendering the site in portrait mode.

Ahhhhh - O.K. Hmmmm... Thanks for explaining. The more I think about this fullscreen issue the more it doesn't make any sense. You'd think they'd give you the option to maximise your view of the chess board and it's size on the screen. Really lame Man!

Good idea! I always use firefox out of habbit but I'll do a search and see if there's anything like this for firefox and I'll also try the site out on chrome to see if there's a difference. Another weird thing is that i'm playing a one day/24 hour game with a player and for some reason I'm not even getting the option to go into focus mode...like the icon just isn't even there. I'm not havin much luck eh. lol. THANKS!
The best you'll probably be able to get is F11 and Focus mode. The board is square and that puts the top and bottom of the board even with the top and bottom of the screen. Depending on your screen size, you may still have some empty space to the left and right but you're not going to get better than that and still have the right aspect ratio on the board.

So right now I'm playing a Daily Chess game and for some reason as I mentioned above there 's no icon or visible Focus icon/option to click on and I can't work out why? This is a seperate issue that's just presented itself possibly for the first time. Maybe something t do with Daily Chess set up? I really don't know but because of this I can't try out your suggestion...BOOHOOO!

Yes, F11 on the browser. That is the browser full screen mode and it also gets rid of the site menu when you do that.
Regarding your more recent question, I don't believe the regular Daily has a Focus Mode option but Daily games in Play (Beta) should.

Play (Beta) is going to replace the other options in the future, as a unified interface, but doesn't have all the features implemented yet. They have different code and look different as well.
when I click on the fullscreen icons it never switches to actual fullscreen. I can still see my top and bottom toolbars? Am I missing something? I just want to see the game/board to concentrate?
