Hi jds01c, that kind of thing can be unpleasant, many of us have experienced it here. I posted a similar topic to yours a few years back, when it was pointed out to me that lots of those guys could be very young and have still to grow up. Helps to put things in perspective.

If a player is being nasty during a game, you can just click on their username in the game chat and block them.

ForeverHoldYourPiece - Thank you! That has been the only thing i have not liked about this site! I did not realize that was a possibility! I retract my starting post- i did do a search before posting and never found that option! Thank you again for your time and information, it was very helpful! As to every one else i also appreciate your time, i did know how to disable chat, but one guy continued to private message me for a day or two- i thought he'd stop after the game, then i figured he'd stop after one message, the next day he sent something else so if finally blocked him- it was admitedly an uncommon situation, and i'd assume he wasn't quite all there. I get some are young, but i havne't gotten that impression from those who have been out of line enough to bother me. But really i just wanted a quick and easy way to take care of it, and now i know so thanks to all.

There's currently no convenient way to block a user from the mobile app.

@kco: I tried to post once. It gave me an error message stating that the message wouldn't post due to incorrect format. (It's tapping letters on my iPhone, so how can that be incorrect format?) I tried twice more, both times with "unable to post" errors. Then I visit the forum page and here are my messages. I'd delete the extra messages if that option were available on the mobile app.

iPhone 5 running iOS 9.3.1 and chess.com app v3.2.57.

BTW, I confirmed with chess.com Support that the current mobile app does NOT support blocking-ignoring users.  We must do that from the browser.
