 Yes.  Just above your name in the game are 6 small symbols including download and share.  The download nets you a PGN file that you can do whatever you want with.

Of course there are those who would use this feature for nefarious purposes so I wouldn't be surprised if PGN downloads of current games triggered some kind of surveillance from chess.com.  Not you of course, but some folks will do anything to win.

I just want it so I can converse more easily with my opponent in chat. For instance, I was trying to explain to an opponent how they avoided a trap, and had to laboriously type in my pgn (I thought). Thanks for the help.

I had completely forgotten about this little chat. I don't know if this is existed back in 2018 , but here is a handy little download button. You can download the PGN or other options such as a GIF "movie" of the game.
