I guess that would be useful for some people since my mouse sometimes slips somehow.
Entering moves via keyboard

Typing moves is a must for serious games. The possibility of a mouseslip is unacceptable in a game you've spent 2 hours fighting as hard as you can in. When typing moves, you can pause, and double-check your typing before hitting enter, meaning any mistake is entirely your fault.

Also, these commands should be case sensitive. There is a difference between Bxc3 and bxc3. FICS is not case sensitive, but does detect that this is an ambiguous command similar to have two rooks or knights that can move to the same square. The pawn move can be done with pxc3. If I remember correctly, the bishop move would be someting like Bdxc3. It would be much easier with case sensitive commands.

apart from mouseslips, if you use a cordless mouse, it might run out of batteries while playing, and if you don't have other charged batteries at the ready, you're done

I agree and would prefer to put the mouse down if i could. I am not software developer but it seems like that would be easier to accommodate than some of the other requests, two moves are already possible that way, /resign and /draw. Another reason for entering moves via keyboard is to help weak players like me learn the lingo and understand more fluently the ideas being expressed by better players.
Chess.com offers a lot, but one of the things I miss from other sites I've played on is the ability to type my moves. I know that I am probably an oddball with this preference, but I doubt that I'm alone.
Just a thought.
