What does anyone have to gain by demeaning the kid? With so few games to go by there is every chance that his true strength could be higher than he reports himself.
Kid, chessplayers have a reputation for being petty, friendless misfits. Try to excel at the sport and not the persona.

What would be far more impressive than a 1581 (or 1474, whatever) online rating on a chess website would be a 12 year-old who doesn't need strangers on the internet to tell him how great he is to boost his ego. As in most pursuits in life, if you have to ask whether you're any good, you're not.

im 8yrs old and my chess club rating is 1674. my cfc rating is 1178. and my uscf rating is 1449. my chess n math rating is 1203.my northwest chess rating long game (60 min time control+)is 1553.my northwest chess short game (30min time crontrol-)is 1789. is this good? i think your good.am i?for my age?
I would deinitely say yes, for the fact that you are among the top few percentage of people who play on chess.com. I'm a 1400 and I'm in the 88th percentile, which is quite good. So 1581 is very good. I would be proud.

Depends, just turned 8 or turning 9? In U8 at CYCC a 1200 would have likely made you competative for a top 10 finish. In U10 you still have plenty of time to improve.
Keep at it. You're playing good chess.

I think I am rated 1500 FIDE
For clarity, how did you get a FIDE rating?!? I *think* FIDE uses an ELO system and I'm not to sure how that works, but usually involves in playing FIDE tournaments.
Do you belong to the Chess Federation of Canada?!? Have you participated in any of their tournaments?!? For someone of 13 years old, you are still very, VERY young. Enjoy your youth, and don't obsess over chess and chess ratings. Once you get older -- like 16 to 18 -- and YOU decide YOU want to start to enter into chess tournaments and YOU -- not your parents -- pay for all entry fees etc., then go for it!!! I think the biggest problem going on here in the U.S. is all the children who now play "scholastic chess" -- be it because THEY want to or because THEIR PARENTS want them to play. It seems more an ego trip for the parents if they can brag that their "Little Johnny" is a raising chess star. At 13 you still can't many any decisions without their consent. Let your Chess Accomplishments be YOURS, and YOURS ALONE -- that means earning the money necessary for the entry fees, etc. The biggest mistake you could make is to get caught up in the Scholastic Chess Tournamnet Grind. There some kids that play in tournaments non stop, and if they lose a game, their PARENTS get upset.
Now for some pragmatic advice:
For the next 3-5 years decide what TYPE of chess player you want to be: A swashbuckling, devil-may-care player; a finess player; an agressive in-your-face player; a quite meticulous player, etc. Decide what type of openings suit your "style" of play, and develope a personal opening repertoire; study your tactics, middle and end game motifs; hone your skills until they are razor sharp; consider joining the Chess Federation of Canada -- not sure if the CFC is like the USCF and allows children membership. The USCF use to be an ADULT ONLY organization, now it is primarily a Scholastic Organization, subsidized by its Adult membership. Even if all they can offer you is a "Junior" or "Associate" Membership take it... but YOU -- not your parents -- YOU pay for it.
Finally concentrate on your SCHOOL WORK -- yeah I know, how BORING is that? That said their are very, very few chess players -- even International Grand Masters -- who can make a living, let alone support a family ( and trust me in 10 years time, which will go by faster than you know, you will start to think about gwetting married, going on to professional school, etc) on what a chess player can ever earn, on the other hand doctors, scientists, engineers, technologists, etc., can earn enough money on their own without needing the wife to work as well. Chess is about setting PRIORITES -- your first priority should be your school work, your second priority -- if YOU wish to make it such -- can be chess.
If I sound like I speak from experience, I am: When I was 15 I started to learn the game from my step-brother, who use to humiliate me, until *I* decided to teach myself the game. At 16 I entered into an ADULT tournament, which was an Open Tournament -- and won it. At 18 I entered the US Army and became a member of the USCF, and played in the European Chess District. As I grew older my priorities changed, and chess took a backseat to my career. Two months before I earned my Ph.D. I received a devastating diagnosis, that effectively ended my career, and forced me into an early retirement. While I no longer actively compete in chess tournaments, chess is one of my top two priorities, and now play 3 times a week, and "coach" my 84 year old "student" who *is* an active tournament player.
Use this website to help you in developing your chess skills. There are many good players on this site who can, and would be more than willing, to help you develop your chess skills. As far as ratings go... as most serious players will tell you, an Online Rating is nice, but it doesn't count, unless it is with the ICC, or FIDE's soon to be Online site. The only REAL RATING that counts, and the only one that most people care about, is one earned in OTB play. That said a 1581 Online Rating is something to be proud of, if for no other reason, as it shows what your POTENTIAL playing strength will be once you engauge in actual tournament play. You haven't played enough games yet to establish your range yet, but even if that range is 1400 - 1600, trust me that's REALLY GOOD!!! Should you make the commitment -- and it will have to be a commitment -- to sink your spare time and money to play chess competitively, by the time you enter into your first OTB tournamnet, you will go far, because you will be well prepared, both by your own desire and will, as well as by this community you now belong to.
Best Wishes for Your Continuing Success.
