I second this! USCF and BCF are certainly not the only chess federations in this world.
Local ELO rating

The BCF (British Chess Federation) has not even existed for quite a number of years, it fractured into the various constituent countries' chess federations. For example, my rating (grading in England) is through the English Chess Federation. This has been pointed out a number of times since 2007 by myself and other members, to no avail.

This has been suggested before, instead of limiting to FIDE, USCF and BCF a bigger list of otb and postal chess organizations be available in the pulldown menu, or a freeform field for organizations which are not listed.
Ok, I performed a search for "local elo" not to duplicate the topic, but didn't find what I was looking for. Sorry.

As PrawnEatsPrawn says, the BCF doesn't even exist! So we are left with an international rating, a U.S.A. rating and an extinct rating.

Since we are all on this website, why not let Glicko be Glicko? If you are rated as something else elsewhere, then that applies to that place. Certainly no one in the world walks into any tournament and starts talking about their Chess.com rating whilst sitting at the board.

Actually, I have been occasioned to meet other chess.com players OTB by chance, and our discussions will always fall upon ratings at some point.

It just one more detail in our profile Narniacalls. It's like the hometown. You have Cheyenne -- I have Prague. Why not let players put their local ELO if they don't have FIDE/USCF/BCF?
In my case I have 2068 Czech ELO right now. I'm currently playing a tourney where I will get FIDE ELO when I finish. I expect it to be very close to my local one, but anyway right now I have to write my local ELO as FIDE in my profile because I have no other option, and I think there's no harm in creating a new category, so that we could fill our details more accurately.
Thanks.

There's a section on the profile page labeled "About Me." Write your local rating there.
Hahahaha... so the solution is writing the rating everywhere except is the field created for the rating because it's very difficult and problematic to create a new category in the drop-down list... I see...
You should work in politics, mate
Hi,
I wanted to suggest a new ELO category when filling in our profile details. So far there are three different categories (FIDE, USCF, BCF). I suppose this is based on the different systems (and non-compatible among each other) for calculating the ELO/rating.
However there are lots of players who doesn't have one of these three yet, but a local one given by the national chess federation.
May I suggest a new category just called "Local" or similar in order for the player who wants it to write his/her local ELO, please?
Thanks.
