Please bring back 5 | 5 time control

I play exclusively 5 | 5 blitz for a very specific reason that it lets you play out endgames.  Even if your clock is almost out you can spend as many turns as you need to finish the game properly instead of turning into a clock race.  I'm very disappointed to see it has been removed.  10 | 0 is no replacement for it.  In a 10 | 0 your opponent will often keep playing trying to win on time even if they are in a lost position - this bothers me and is not real chess.  In a 5 | 5 there is no such thing as a forced win on time.  A won endgame can be won, and a drawn endgame can be truly drawn instead of the one with more clock time winning.  Maybe 5 | 5 isn't as popular as 10 | 0 but there are plenty of 5 | 5 opponents to get a match in a minute or two!  Please bring it back.  It really is different and better than 10 | 0 for a certain kind of player like me.  If 5 | 5 doesn't come back, this might truly drive me away from chess.com, and perhaps I'm not alone.

Correction, 5|5 is still available, but you have to click on the "More..." button on the time controls within Live Chess to get to it, when previously you didn't need to.  Not quite as big a problem as I thought, (yet) though hiding it that way might reduce or eliminate the 5|5 player base over time.  That could have the same effect as eliminating 5|5 entirely, and could also drive me away from the site.  What determines position in that list - was this a manual change or are they sorted by popularity?  Since 5|5 now appears last in the list after such weird time settings as 20 seconds and 45|45 I have to assume it was a manual change, is there any reason for it?

I'm pretty sure it was by popularity for the time controls listed before "More...", but I'm not sure about the ones within "More..." - it would be a good question to raise with the Support Team via Help --> Ask a Question

The problem is that, on this site, the way most people get a game is by selecting one of those and waiting for a game.

Most people do not go and look at the opening challenges and accept one.

So those who put in a "custom" time control are often going to be waiting for someone who does the latter and not the former.

I agree that this coujld be an issue, especially on mobile devices where the Open Challenge graph doesn't fit very well into the limited screen size, but you would get the same problem if it's not a very popular time control even if it wasn't a couple more clicks away - there just aren't as many people issuing seeks at the time control and you have to wait longer. Personally, I always have a look at what challenges are open before issuing a seek of my own, and sometimes I play one of the variants or at different time controls. It also lets you have a look at that person's profile before starting a game with them, although by the time you do that, sometimes the challenge has been accepted by someone else already.
