Survey and nowlucky.com subscription

I had a popup that said I was a lucky winner chosen to answer survey questions (four short ones, specifically about chess.com and how often I access it) and then choose from a list of prizes.  The prizes are listed as free though the android tablet has a 1 dollar charge.  Continuing into the process I am taken to nowlucky.com website with terms and conditions that say I am to get a paid 3 day subscription to this site in order to get the android.  It is some kind of online quiz game.

I did not fill in my information as the whole thing seems quite like some kind of scam.  Is this legit?  If not, why is it on chess.com?

As a premium you shouldn't see any ads at all other than ones the management put on the site (promotions like wholesalechess.com ones).

Can you run a spyware remover and adware remover on your pc and an anti virus scan.

I will do that a bit later this morning.  I have had such popups in the past, but never one linked directly to a random site I was browsing.  I will post the results here later this morning.  Thanks for the reply.

It popped up again just in writing this reply.  Clearly spyware.

It was spyware and has been removed.  It was one of those things when downloading a program...a video codec I think...where if you don't uncheck the box it installs "helpful" software to "find the best deals on the web."  Nothing to do with chess.com.

in regards to Nowlucky it is a scam I had the misfortune to get a pop up from them saying I had won a prize and a three day trial subscription to a quiz game all it would cost was $1.00 sounded to good to be true and it was next thing I know they have taken out $115.00 from my account for a membership and subscription and refuse to return it I have since reported it as a scam and still haven't seen my prize or my money returned

I am sorry to hear that.  It definitely looked like a scam.  It was the first popup malware I've seen that inserts the name of the website you are on, so it appeared at first to be related to the website.

Nowlucky.com is caused by an adware program named as Fast Media Converter. It asked you to answer survey questions for the purpose of collecting your browsing habits. It is suggested that you remove the pop-up if it keeps showing up. If you don't know how to do that, you can check out the removal guide.
