Tactics Trainer Flip Board

I did a quick search on existing topics and could not find anything relevant.

It is a simple suggestion- implement a flip board option for the tactics trainer. The reasoning is very simple and I got it from a video off youtube, which I won't paste here but it is by GM Igor Smirnov on Eliminating Blunders.

The Idea is to familiarize yourself with seeing your opponents plans. Having learnt chess mostly from solving tactics, I often see tacitcs ahead for myself but I tend to miss the most simple things my opponent has. It would be nice to have a training tool that is exactly the same as the current Tactics Trainer but from the opposite side. That trains my brain to be more efficient at recognizing patterns from my opponents perspective as well.

It should not be too hard to implement either I believe because such functionality already exists on Analysis Board and Game/Opening Explorer.

Not exactly what you want, but you can set TT to always have white on the bottom. That way you get to see TT from your side roughly 1/2 of the problems, and your opponent's side the other 1/2. Best of both worlds, you might say Laughing.

Oh I did not know that. As you said not exactly what I wished but works half the time but still no way to give you the perspective of black while 'defending'.

Me too!

I would like the option to flip the board for any tactical trainer problem for improvement in defending

But in the iPhone app I couldn’t find the tactical trainer setting to keep White always on the bottom, as mentioned above

That's funny, I have the option to flip my board.  Top right hand corner of the board is a small symbol.  Run your cursor over it and it says "resize".  Just underneath it are two other symbols that are revealed only when you hold your cursor over the first symbol.  Flip is the symbol just beneath it.  OK, I didn't actually check if those symbols are there when you do regular tactics training because I just didn't want to.  They are there for custom unrated though.  It's a simple enough operation with a mouse that you can go back and forth between views fairly quickly.  Hope that helps...Yes, you're right this is for the browser version; don't know anything about the mobile...
