Tactics Trainer

When doing some of the tactics trainer puzzles I have noticed that there are often times when there are tactics within the tactic. That is, the solution is to force mate but they have also hung their queen. Can you PLEASE remove this feature, it means that you get questions wrong which you could have possibly gotten right.

I don't know about tactics trainer, but I do know about chess mentor... there are alternate "correct moves" but never the right one that they want. I did this one that was a Bobby Fischer game, and they wanted me to play like he did... I made a move, and it said "alternate correct move!!" "this move is better than the correct move, but we want you to see his plan." and "Bobby missed that one"

In tactics trainer the correct move is the one that leads to the solution in the least possible moves or leads to the best possible outcome.

So, if you have the choice between wining a queen or checkmating, the checkmate is the correct option or if one possible solution will take 4 moves while another takes 3 moves, then go for the 3 move option.

It can be frustrating, but it's good practice to find the best option - that's why it is a 'trainer'.

Yes, but it means I need to lose all my time checking if it's correct when I saw it at the very start.
