The Internet time lag may affect your results

I'm only guessing, but maybe because there are already half a dozen current threads complaining about "lag". Also, in those threads, the responses are fairly consistent: someone will link to the FAQ about lag, and someone else will say "get faster internet". I know those aren't the responses you're looking for, but that's very likely to be what anyone would say if they responded here.
(And, sometimes, someone will comment "but [the other site] doesn't have this issue".)
I have a problem when playing blitz via a slow Internet connection that is GPRS. I connect through my mobile phone used as a modem, and its speed is about 10-30 Kbit/s or so. The problem is, as I noticed it, a significant time lag.
When I make a move, it takes more time on the clock than I spend thinking. It takes additional several seconds. I did not notice it at first. Maybe, several seconds is not a big delay, but in blitz it matters. The delay means that in blitz my opponent gets odds. As a result, I lost scores of games on time and my rating appears far bellow my normal strength.
Whatever browser I tried, this problem persists. I tried the latest versions of Google Chrome and Firefox. I also tried earlier versions of Firefox just to make sure. But the time lag and the way it affects the clock persist and do not depend on the browser.
I suppose those of the chess.com users whose Internet is slow must have the same problem as I have, which means that it cannot be ignored. If your Internet connection is slow, it may affect your results in blitz and bullet.
There would not be such problem, if chess.com had a client program, like the BabasChess software run by the freechess.org website. It seems the BabasChess was created to overcome all issues with the Internet. It shows a time lag, but it affects the clock in no way, and the time lost because of a slow connection is not counted as if spent by the player.
I love chess.com more than any other such website because of its options and because of many big names here. I hope that the problem with the time lag will be resolved. Anybody who has an idea how it can be resolved please answer.
PS. As far as I know, there are two versions of chess.com, and it is the old one that I use. But the new one is even worse in the sense of connectivity. Just now I tried it and could start no game at all. It remains to guess how many users throughout the world will have issues with it. I am wondering whether it ever occurred to the technical staff that such problems can be. Or what are they thinking about?
