Um, don't believe that many people are offering to pay for a gold membership randomly. There are some tournaments that offer them as a prize, but you need to win those to get it. Sorry.

To register for that tournament your rating can not be higher than 1500
You might try finding someone that has just purchased a Platinum membership, because they get a free gold membership to gift to anyone they choose.

Iam in a tourny right now and hope to win a free membership , it's great of this guy to offer this . If I don't win I will pay for a membership because this site is really worth a investment of about $ 30 a year . I have been putting this of for a long time but since you get a free T shirt , what do I have to loose ?

Its very rare for people to offer them as gifts or tournament prizes anymore, given that free membership hand-outs are no longer given to Platinum/Diamond members.
