I have tried inviting some players but it seams like to only way to invite is typing in each username which is pretty tedious and I am not sure who to invite other than my friends which I have already done.

You can invite available players in the eligible range but restrict yourself to premium members. They are more likely to be under their tournament limit. Ensure they have played recently. Try copy and paste rather than typing.
It can be quite a task to fill a tournament. If you check without logging in, you will see 25 plus pages of upcoming tournaments. There are many other distractions on the site so the list of non-started tournaments increases regularly.
You could try dropping the maximum number of players or you could wait until a full 96 players find your tournament but you have to weigh the possibility some registrants will have abandoned the site before your tournament begins.

Looks like you have decided to compete with yourself. At least they are slightly different.

Similar tournaments is part of the reason tournaments do not start. Players who might fill one are spread over many and none can start.
